Best Supporting Actor
Alan Arkin, Little Miss Sunshine

I’m surprised Eddie Murphy didn’t win—wasn’t he the favourite? But Alan Arkin was great in that movie. He also had a nice thank you speech. Would you be nervous giving such a speech? He didn't have it memorized--does that mean he wasn't expecting to win? The wrap-it-up music is always heartbreaking. We all know the ceremony is going to go over-time. Let the people thank their mamas!

Wouldn’t it be fun to play in the Oscars orchestra? Pretty difficult, I’d imagine. You’d have to play with all the soul required in a long musical line, then be ready to cut off suddenly. They are so brilliant though—it just ends without sounding choked off. Except for one horn player that at one point held on a little too long.

I’m very impressed with the dance troupe doing interpretations of Oscar nominees. Did you see them rolling together to look like the penguins from Happy Feet? Amazing!

I'd be a wreck but yes, it would be great to play in the orchestra!

Btw, did you hear the girls (um ... women ... um ... actresses) say "literally eye candy" right now.

I'm not sure what that means. But there goes that "literally" again!

(Once I heard a newscaster say they were going to have to "literally go through the tunnel with a fine toothed comb." Yep. He was talking about investigating an accident that happened in a tunnel. I felt horrible for the guy who had the comb.)
